Log Cabin

 

Lakefront/Two Bedrooms.   One of the Minnesota cabins that feels like "your own cabin at the lake" is set back just 60 feet from the shoreline and one of River Point's two beaches--perfect for the swimmers in the group.

The lakefront view from the Log Cabin is something to rave about. Sweeping to the south and to the west, it just does not get much better!

Thw Log Cabin has an incredibly private location with level ground for easy access to the water, just a few steps away. A perfect cabin for the traditional vacation at the lake with Mom, Dad and two children, who just might find this cabin to be the ideal choice for a week's getaway. And, it is also a superb choice for a fishing group of three to four persons.

Birch and tall white pine trees serve as the "backdrop" surrounding this authentic and historic, hand-hewn log cabin, which gives the Log Cabin a more rustic feel and appearance, but with plenty of the modern amenities and creature comforts.

Families and fishing groups enjoy the picnic table, lounging chairs, chaise loungers, and gas grill that make hanging out on the spacious sundeck simply perfect on a warm summer day when cooking up fresh fish or burgers. 

Two carpeted bedrooms, one with a double bed; the other with a double bed and one twin bed.

Kitchen with electric stove with oven, electric refrigerator, and microwave oven, and all the small electrics, such as blender, hand mixer, drip coffee pot, and toaster. Bath with shower. Living room area with comfy seating and a lakeview.  

Superb lakefront view of Birch Lake from the large screened porch with comfortable furniture, including a sofa sleeper, table and lamp, and additional chair--also small table for lakefront dining for two while watching the dramatic sun sets to the west.

Large lawn area between the Log Cabin and the South Beach area allows for active games for adults and youngsters.

New fire pit is adjacent to the cabin for evening marshmallow roasts and time to enjoy the night sky.

Private dock to the west. Perfect for fishing from and for docking a boat or canoe--great convenience along with beautiful water views.

Summerbreeze

 

Lakefront/Two Bedrooms.  Summerbreeze lakefront vacation home cabin...another quintessential "cabin at the lake" is surrounded by towering birch and deep green pine trees just 60 feet from the water's edge.

Family vacation time personified. Funny how no one remembers anything about those business meetings, or work, or home projects. Nor can anyone tell you who won those critical games on our children's overbooked schedules.

 

But, we all have vivid memories of our time together at the lake. We have pictures (in our minds, our scrapbooks, and our computers) of our families together having fun. With not much effort we can smell the freshness of the lake after a recent rainfall, the cool breeze coming off the water on hot summer day, and the warmth of the sand at the beach.

Your family can have that all again. Summerbreeze cabin shares the same beautiful hilltop with The Point cabin offering sweeping panoramic lakefront views of the South Kawishiwi River and Birch Lake. As far as you can see into the horizon, the treeline and the waters extend from your incredible vantage point.

A smaller two bedroom lakefront cabin with an amazing lakefront view, Summerbreeze has equally amazing terrain. A sweet path leads down through huge granite rock formations to the marina area amidst towering trees. Large two-tiered sundeck with full southern exposure is great for relaxing on while reading a book or your kindle, getting a suntan and sipping on lemonade. Play a board game with the kids and just hang out. The view is terrific and the privacy exceptional. Equipped with picnic table, lounging chairs, and gas grill you're ready for outdoor cooking and eating.

A screen porch stretches across the front of the cabin with dining table and chairs for two and a comfortable Adirondack two-seater lounger. Escape to the screen porch when not wanting the sun's heat...also it's the perfect place to watch the raindrops fall on a summer afternoon, too.

Two comfortable carpeted bedrooms, both with a double bed flank the back portion of the cabin. Bathroom is complete with a shower.

The knotty pine kitchen is outfitted with a dishwasher, new cabinets, electric stove, refrigerator, and microwave, plus all the small electrics appliances such as toaster, hand mixer, blender, and drip coffee pot. Instead of dining out, you'll want to "dine in" and relish the incredible lakeview while grilling dinner for the family. The kitchen table for four persons in the dining area faces the water extending the wonderful lake view through the screen porch for all to enjoy, and a ceiling fan circulates the air on those warmer summer days.

Summerbreeze also is air conditioned.

Summerbreeze Cabin is a great choice for one or two couples or a family with one to two children. Seclusion and bountiful lake views equals relaxation and rejuvenation. family time...ahhh...good times.

Hideaway

 

Lakefront/One Bedroom.  This modest and economical Minnesota rental cabin is nestled among tall Norway pine and spruce trees with lots of "breathing space", just 60 feet from the lake, with its own private road leading to the cabin and a private dock.

Level ground to the lake provides easy access to the water.

Bathroom has custom ceramic flooring and shower.

One carpeted bedroom includes one queen bed. Bedroom has a new double-sized sleeper sofa with table and lamp adjacent providing a cozy sitting area in the bedroom. The kitchen comes equipped with microwave oven, electric refrigerator, and stove with oven, plus small electric appliances--hand mixer, blender, toaster, and drip coffee pot.

Dining table extends the view through the screen porch to the natural beauty outside and makes for the perfect indoor place to dine, yet feel like you are outdoors.

Air conditioning throughout this lakefront cabin brings relief from summer heat, yet plenty of windows provides excellent cross ventilation.

Ceiling fan circulates the fresh air in the bedroom for added comfort for those who may not choose to utlilize the A/C.

The view of the Kawishiwi River from the screen porch and sun deck is panoramic and extends to the other side of the river.

Relaxing in the screen porch with a good book or enjoying a quiet evening of conversation is ever so renewing. On the large sundeck is a gas grill, and lounging chairs. Picnic table adjacent for another place to enjoy the grounds surrounding this quaint cabin.

Lodging rates, all motorized boat rentals, launch and docakge fees for personal boats, and all packages are subject to applicable 9.875% MN Sales Tax and a 6% service fee. Lodging and package rates subject to 3% local tax. Other rates subject to 6.875% MN Sales Tax. Staff gratuities discretionary.

FYI: The service fee on lodging accommodations, motorized watercraft and packages help to support staff gratuities, the program of activities offered during the summer months (Note: supervised Kid's Adventure Time program no longer offered), high speed internet service located by the lodge/office, abundant supply of split and stacked firewood placed in the fireboxes conveniently located by accommodations with wood-burning fireplaces and for the three outside fire pits.

The service also supports marina and waterfront assistance, such as bailing of boats, complimentary fish cleaning, twice weekly housekeeping "Courtesy Call" to replenish items, such as TP, coffee filters, trash bags, lite bulbs, etc, plus many other services. Additional staff gratuities are discretionary and encouraged, especially for guided trips and housekeepers.

• A 3-day minimum is preferred on partial week rentals.

• We are happy to fulfill specific lodging requests, but also attempt to best satisfy unit occupancy capabilities.

• With a reservation of any two or three bedroom accommodation, and the Riverview or The Point Luxury Vacation Cabins for the time of 6/22 - 8/9, it is recommended, and preferred, that a motorized watercraft is rented for the length of your reservation, unless bringing your own personal motorized watercraft--refer to dockage rates.

Your special wilderness Minnesota resorts vacation at the lake comes complete with many guest services and outdoor recreation options such as the complimentary Activities Program with activities that vary such as: guided hikes into the Boundary Waters and instructional canoeing classes. Note: Kid's Adventure Time program is not offered.

Consider taking a 2-day, 1-night "Taste of the North Woods" Boundary Waters BWCA canoe trip as part of your River Point Resort Holiday. 

The Wildwood Lodge-one of the most pleasant lodges in the area is located at River Point Resort. It is a entertaining place to meet other resort guests, talk about fishing and the weather, have a snack or beverage, shop in the Wolf Den Gift Shop, or enjoy a game of chess or cards.

River Point does not offer a full service restaurant in the Wildwood Lodge. However, snacks and beverages, including pizza, ice cream, beer, sodas, and more are available. Local grocery stores offer great food options for preparing and enjoying your meals at River Point's lake facility in the comfort of your Vacation Home-your Ely Minnesota cabins-with full kitchen and outside gas grill. Or, drive into Ely, roughly 10 minutes away, for many dining choices from simple and inexpensive to gourmet fare.

Small beach watercraft, including one- and two-person kayaks, paddleboats, and paddleboards are complimentary, plus sleek sea kayaks are available for a small rental fee.

FISHING and BOATING 

If you enjoy Minnesota walleye fishing, or if fishing is your outdoor recreation pursuit, your premier wilderness resort lodge vacation at River Point Resort also includes a complimentary fishing seminar, minnow buckets, landing nets, fish cleaning service, and more.

Birch Lake and the South Kawishiwi River are teaming with hungry walleye, northern pike, small mouth bass, crappie, and bluegill. Refer to Amenities for more information.

Boating 20-mile long Birch Lake is amazing! Virtually all shoreline is undeveloped and a site to behold with vast granite cliffs and unending pine trees. Spend time going in and out of the bays and inlets, have a hot dog roast on an island, swim, berry pick, and relax. It is there for you to enjoy. "A boater's paradise."
